Regarding the comment of DBS lineage: I’m pretty sure MS SQL server came from Sybase, which was the first RDBMS I used.

Just went and double checked, and you are correct, BUT Sybase origin was Ingres. So MS SQL Server origins indeed trace back to same ones as Postgres, just hav to go one step further back :)
