There’s no evidence that Southwest’s systems are running on Windows 3.1:

AFAICT, it’s entirely bollocks. Same with the claim they still run Windows 95, that’s from the same lazy digitaltrends article, misquoting another misquote from 2 years ago.

Good call, thanks for pointing this out.

I didn’t read my source close enough to realize it’s filled with qualifiers (‘apparently’, ‘some are attributing’, etc.) & didn’t click through to the CNN source to realize the reason for Southwest’s uptime wasn’t stated.

I changed the episode title/newsletter subject so it’s for sure accurate now & updated the intro paragraph to reference rumors vs stating it as a fact.

I’ll also issue a correction in next week’s audio doing the same.
