Melanie is a decorated, disabled military veteran who became a software engineer after her enlistment ended. She now works as a Senior Software Engineer at LinkedIn.

She is a member of the Ember.js core team, and is working on ways to make accessible applications easier to implement. She also provides education to developers in an easy-to-digest way, usually with quite a bit of humor. She organizes the Ember Chicago Meetup, and is co-chair of the EmberCamp Chicago planning committee.
