Red Hat’s decision to lock down RHEL sources behind a subscription paywall was met with much ire and opened opportunity for Oracle to get a smack in and SUSE to announce a fork with $10 million behind it.
Few RHEL community members have been as publicly irate as Jeff Geerling, so we invited him on the show to discuss.

I like the new format! For the particular episode, it’s a topic that’s really interesting to me, but since I’m not in the Redhat ecosystem, I was missing some context here and there… I guess I’m wishing for some more basic explanation for dumb listeners like me of things that were totally obvious to the three of you 😉. But it was still a good listen!
PS: Cory Doctorow is definitely my dream guest for this show, loved the Changelog episode with him

This is good feedback. I almost inserted a context explainer at the front of the show during post-production, but after re-listening to the first 5 minutes I thought Jeff did a good enough job of setting the stage that people would feel filled-in. Guess I was wrong! 😔
