🎧 Jerod talks Elixir and Phoenix on Full Stack Radio  â†¦

Adam Wathan was gracious enough to invite me on Full Stack Radio to discuss why and how we built this very platform that I’m using to write and you’re using to read.

Most of the show focuses on Elixir itself, with topics ranging from pattern matching and immutability to the pipe operator and deployment. Adam also got me to confess a dirty little secret… I still don’t really know what GenServers are! 😱

I may have found this via Elixir Radar, but there was a good article about how you don’t need to write GenServers yourselfto be productive, so no need to feel ashamed. 😄

Thanks this is definitely what my ego needed rn 😉

I’ve been programming elixir since ~2015. I’ve never written a production GenServer or supervision tree (and I have multiple applications in production and multiple published libraries)

I’m not alone in the world! 💚
