I’m an happy Ergodox EZ owner and while I have a Logi MX trackball or an Apple Magic Trackpad (it depends on the Mac I’m using) I just configured a layer to move my cursor with my right hand and click with my left. The leds colours are configured so the only active keys in that layer are clearly visible.

Not sure I follow. Can you post a gif or video somewhere?

I own the Moonlander and I made the layout correspond to Neo2, with some customizations. It really is soo easy to modify the layout/background lightings and flash the keyboard. I can plug it into any PC and have my layout, no further software or configuration necessary! This really is a stellar product. Buy it if you are considering it - stop considering, just get it.
