Ship It! Ship It! #33

πŸŽ„ Merry Shipmas 🎁

Merry Shipmas! This is our special Christmas episode which sums up two months of very early mornings and a few late nights. After many twists and turns, stuff which didn’t work out, as well as pleasant surprises, this is what we ended up with:

  • 🎁 PR #395 - CI/CD Lego set with Guillaume de Rouville & Joel Longtine
  • 🎁 PR #396 - Continuous CPU profiling with Frederic Branczyk
  • 🎁 PR #399 - Auto-restoring Kubernetes clusters with Dan Mangum & Muvaffak Onuş

While we initially intended to have five Christmas presents in total, only three got delivered in time. We planned, worked hard and eventually shipped the best we could just in time for this special Christmas episode. Our hope is that the latest additions to our changelog.com GitHub repository will help you just as much as they will help our 2022 setup.

πŸŽ„Merry Shipmas everyone! πŸŽ„

That was awesome @gerhard! Thanks for the shout-out and Merry Christmas/Happy Holidays! πŸ₯³πŸŽ„ πŸ₯³
You gave some pretty awesome Shipmas episodes, and hearing your journey through this podcast throughout the year has been a treat by itself! Thanks for all the hard work you put it in!

Thanks for all the people who joined in on this! It really was an amazing episode, and makes me want to fiddle around with all your products!

@jlongtine and @grouville, cuelang is so awesome, and I’m glad that some people who see how awesome it is are taking advantage of it! I’ve never personally used it (tried for a little bit, but didn’t have enough time to learn the language properly), but I heard about it on the GoTime podcast and was blown away at the potential of it! If you two (or anyone else) have any recommendations for learning cue in a practical way please share, because while I’m all for referencing the docs they have a lot (IMO) πŸ˜…. I’m definitely going to have to check out dagger more!

@fredbrancz, I had never heard of doing this type of observability before, but it sounds so amazing! I’ll definitely dig into the notes you all did, and see what I can learn 😁

@hasheddan, it sounds like you two had a pretty awesome time figuring out how to create the Linode provider for crossplane. I can’t wait to hear the whole convo, and see the different issues you two ran into and how you figured them out!

@muvaf, it sounds like you have done some pretty amazing work in the crossplane community, and when I venture more into that community (as I hope to relatively soon) I look forward to using some of your work! Much appreciation for your time and hard work!

I hope you all have a merry christmas/happy holiday season! Thank you for giving me the gift of hearing all of your voices this christmas eve! πŸ₯³ Look forward to you all using your happiness credits with the Changelog community! πŸ™ƒ
